Functionality

The NutriBullet RX has a special heating feature for soups, sauces, and beverages. You just have to fill up the “souperblast” pitcher with your food ingredients, screw it to fit onto the base, and press the “g” button until it turns red. This will start an automatic 7-minute cycle that will blend and heat the soup before turning it off.

Although the blender doesn’t have a heating element, the blades’ speed and time generate the heat. However, you should keep in mind that you should never pour hot liquids into the RX because it will damage your unit. You can begin with cool or warm liquids/ingredients, and the blender will heat it up.

The NutriBullet comes with a powerful 1700-watt motor. This makes it more powerful than several other NutriBullet blenders, such as the Pro 900, and in some reviews, the NutriBullet RX’s power is even compared to other Magic Bullet blenders. With such power and sturdy blades, you can expect the smoothest textures for your foods.

The blender also comes with a tool for tightening or loosening the blender blades. This tool is very important to ensure that the blade assembly is tightly screwed onto the pitchers. Seeing as the Souperblaster will generate heat that will cause the blade assembly to expand, the tool makes it easier to screw or unscrew it.

According to several reviews about the NutriBullet RX, the blade tightening/loosening tool helps ensure that the rubber gasket doesn’t come off when you handle the blade assembly by hand.

Controls

The NutriBullet RX has a pretty basic speed control mechanism. There is no on/off button. The unit automatically begins to blend once you place the cup onto the base unit and runs a 1-minute pre-set cycle. Within a minute, the speed increases and drops. You could stop the blender whenever you want by taking off the cup from the power base.

The blender also features a pre-set speed function for soup blending/heating. The “Souperblast” is a 7 minutes cycle activated by pressing the green button until it turns red. The RX will stop automatically at the end of the cycle. Overall, the RX doesn’t give you so much over the blending process.

Additionally, the design of the buttons makes it hard for food debris to get lodged inside gaps. And like we mentioned, the blender will only operate when the lid and container are fit perfectly in place.

Motor and Blade

The NutriBullet RX’s powerbase is fitted with a powerful 1700 watts motor that powers top-quality blades. You only get one blade assembly system with this unit that you could use with the different cups. The blade is 4-pronged and is made of stainless steel. The manufacturers recommend replacing the blade assembly after six months, and it could cost over $20.

Additionally, some buyers have said that the motor isn’t very durable. Liquids could spill on the motor, and it doesn’t have so many ventilation holes.

Container and Accessories

The NutriBullet RX unit comes with a 34 oz. SouperBlast pitcher, and a larger 45 oz. cup. The SouperBlaster has a vented lid to let steam out while you blend or heat soups and beverages. The containers are made of low-quality plastic that’s not durable. They easily get scratched, and they crack very easily.

You have to apply some effort to tighten the blade assembly of the containers. Ensure it’s screwed properly, or liquids would leak from the container. Another flaw with the containers is that liquids could still leak even if you don’t fill them to the max line.

Unfortunately, you don’t get any extra attachments with the NutriBullet RX. But if you need replacement parts, you could easily purchase them from NutriBullet and other retailers.

Care and Cleaning

Out of the box, setting up the NutriBullet is very easy. You just put all your ingredients into the cup, screw the blade assembly into place with the tool, and place it on the power base. The blender will automatically begin a cycle. Once a cycle ends, you can repeat the cycle as many times as you want. You could also end a cycle before it runs out by just lifting the cup from the base.

After blending, you may have to let the blender cool off a little because pressure could build up in the cup. Also, you’ll have to use the disassembling/assembling tool to take off the blade.

Although most Bullet blenders are easy to clean up, it’s a slightly different story from the RX.  The gadget is dishwasher safe, but you must be careful because a dishwasher could damage the cups and blade assembly. Also, mold could accumulate under the blade assembly’s gasket, so you’ll have to clean it always. Food could also get stuck in the corners of the containers.

Warranty and Replacements

With the NutriBullet RX, you get a 1-year limited warranty. The warranty only covers manufacturing defects. The RX also has a 30 days trial period, but you’ll have to pay $30 for restocking and shipping fees.

NutriBullet RX 1700w: Final Thoughts

The NutriBullet RX is a powerful blender, but it is only excellent for making smoothies and warming soups and beverages. The 1700-watt motor doesn’t support many functions, and the speed control is very limited with this unit. The containers and blades have some design flaws that make them non-durable.

Overall, the RX is quite expensive and could cost you some extra money for replacements.
