Vitamix 5300 - FAQs
What is the difference between the Vitamix 5200 & 5300 models?
The Vitamix 5300 is more powerful than the 5200. It is also quieter and fits under a standard kitchen cabinet easily. The 5300 also has a pulse function. Other slight differences have to do with their containers and other accessories.
Are the 5300’s containers BPA-free?
Yes, they are. They are made from a material called Eastman Tritan Copolyester, which is BPA-free.
Does the Vitamix 5300 blend frozen fruits well?
- Yes, it can. The blender has a powerful 2.2HP motor and sturdy blades that handle frozen fruits well.
Other than price, what is the difference between 5300 and 7500?
- The 5300 performs just as well as the 7500. Most customers consider them to be essentially the same. The only significant difference is its accessories and motor power.
Does it grind coffee beans well?
The Vitamix 5300 could definitely do that, but if you will use it for that sole purpose, a coffee grinder makes more sense.
How can I use the 'PULSE' button?
The pulse button acts as a quick on/off switch. You would have to toggle it repeatedly to grind to your desired texture. It gives you more control than a constant blending.
Its blades are dulled. Do I have to sharpen them or buy a new one?
The Vitamix 5300’s blades were intentionally dulled. If you try to sharpen them, you could damage your unit.
Does the 5300 come with multiple blades?
- It only comes with a wet type blade designed for liquid ingredients, but it still processes dry ingredients well. However, you can purchase a dry blade separately.
What does the Vitamix 5300 package include?
It includes a low-profile 64 oz container with variable speed setting, a recipe book, a 2.2 HP peak motor, a wet blade, 7 years warranty, and a power cord.
Is the unit loud?
It is not a particularly loud machine, but as you increase the speed up to 6, the noise increases, and it becomes very loud when the speed is set to 10.
Vitamix 5300: Final Thoughts
The Vitamix 5300 is an impressive machine that comes from a long line of high-quality, durable blenders. It has some great features like variable speed control and aircraft-grade blades. The major downside to this blender is its price. However, it offers so much value that makes it worth every penny.
